from our family to yours
Starting as a hobby in the basement of our Long Island home, creating wine by the gallon for family and friends, Stephanie and I developed a deep rooted appreciation for the wine making process. We found sharing great wine with good company to be the most rewarding and enjoyable moments of all.
Presented with the opportunity, Stephanie and I moved our wine making from the basement of our home to the broad vineyards of Lodi, California. With a nod to the winemakers of the land before us we set out to create a wine that shows true to the quality the region demands while bucking the trend of the big brand producers; producing our wines in lower quantities to further emphasize the personality and character.
Understanding the oversaturation of the wine market, we hope that more than anything the simplicity of our wines and the complexity of it's character show through with every sip and stand out to be a wine you'll truly love. The ultimate hope is that you will enjoy our wines as much as we do.

Meet Our Winemaker
Paul Scotto
Paul grew up in the Livermore Valley, “hanging out at my grandfather’s winery”, where he learned that his family’s winemaking history dated back to 1883 in Ischia, Italy. His interest in becoming a 5th generation winemaker resulted and led him to graduate from the Enology program at UC Davis.
After graduation he wanted experience outside of the family business, so he spent seven years selling construction and vineyard equipment, making wine and working in green waste. He joined his siblings in 2009 as the Director of Winemaking for all of their wineries and he developed a passion for creating small lots of premium wine that expressed the vineyard and the varietals. Paul’s enviable portfolio includes numerous awards and top ratings for releases from the family’s Lodi, Napa Valley and Amador wineries and includes both varietals and finely balanced blends.
Paul's love of blending to enhance flavors, aromas and body is the foundation for his work at Galiano. Paul describes himself as a “Blendologist” and often says that “Blending is challenging but the results are the reward.”
Paul’s energy and commitment drive his pursuit of excellence with every vintage and provides a guiding force for the entire Scotto portfolio.
When not working feverishly in the winery and vineyards or following the Golden State Warriors, Paul cherishes his time with his wife Whitney and enjoys a wide range of sports and family outings with their three energetic sons Dante, Luca and Carlo.

We are winemakers. Driven with a passion to produce the most enjoyable wines. With sourcing locations in both Lodi & Napa, California, we handpick the very best grapes for our varietals. Our winemakers work hand in hand with selected production locations to ensure the highest quality wine and create a wine to the taste profile we know our customers enjoy.
We are not an estate wine label. We think that's a good thing, and we think you will too. This means we are not subject solely to grapes grown on property owned by Galiano and farmed by Galiano. We have the priviledge of sourcing the best of the best from our partners, providing the best possible wines for our customers. Because of this, we have a much better control over cost and over quality; allowing us to deliver the highest quality wine at the very best cost.
